Coire Dagdae. Daughter of the Unseelie king and queen. The vessel from which none ever leaves unsatisfied.
There is little much remarkable about Coire's youth. She grew up in a beautiful castle surrounded by servants and guards, sure. But she didn't care about the politics or the war and stayed out from under the shadows of both by flirting with tutors and guards and always managing to be occupied during those visits by generals and the like. She practiced and dedicated herself enough to magic to please her parents. Few are better at handling ice.
Once of age, she found her true passion in life: Sex. It's just fun. While most unseelie born in the fall are friendlier than their winter-born brethren, Coire is exemplary. Having never cared about boring things like who is fighting who this week, and who is a current ally, she's never cared at all who she takes to bed. Human, Seelie, Unseelie, Sluagh, fae, demon... if the interest is mutual, she's into it. She doesn't need love or a soulmate for a flirty connection to lead to more. After all, none has ever left her and been unsatisfied. Many fae are similarly obsessed with the physical, but it seems none other is as proactive about it.
(Many guards from the castle were let go or relieved of service for attending to the princess instead of their duty. Learn to balance your work and pleasure, boys!)
After countless men (and women) and years, the Unseelie king made a sudden and shocking announcement to his children. One of them would be given to his chief strategist, Cermand Cestach, as a spouse.
The outrage and surprised rippled through them. That same strategist was not even a proper fae! He was a devil's idol brought to life by magic, and no matter his standing in the court as strategist and assassin, he was clearly below Unseelie from his "birth" alone. Six of the children objected on those grounds, one particularly vocally.
All seven children were in attendance when Cermand was told of this arrangement. The queen chose the child she thought best (perhaps thinking she needed to straighten out and cool off from frolicking), the one who never once sneered at the idea. Coire. A mere touch of the queen's ring to their hands connected the two as soulmates.
It is an amazing feeling, to feel suddenly that this person's existence is filling the holes in your life and heart you never knew existed.
So they were married. Coire would later be introduced to Cromm Crúaich - Cermand's partner and best friend, another born of magic from an idol. The three of them will eventually be parents to a daughter, Caoimhe.
